Introduction.  Nobody benefits when you are forced to keep an item that you don't need or want.  Dive Sports provides one of the most liberal return policies of any scuba store in the country.  We want to do everything possible to get you the correct product or get your a refund or credit.  Unfortunately, when we accept merchandise that has been put in service (has been used for diving or other water activities), we must place that merchandise in our used fleet for sale at MUCH reduced prices.  As a result, there is a restocking fee for returned material that has been used.  Review the chart below to fully understand how YOUR return will be handled.
 
Various Classes of Return Merchandise.  Merchandise that is returned will be classified into one of several product categories.  That classification determines how the return will be processed.  Each of the classifications and their descriptions are shown in the following table.

60 Day Returns
New, But Missing Packaging or Materials.  Merchandise returned in this condition are products that are brand new, have never been used for diving, but are not in the original packaging or that have manuals, forms, cards, or other materials missing.  Must complete Return Authorization form and return merchandise within 60 days of original purchase date.  There will be a MINIMUM 20% restocking fee deducted from the original purchase price for exchange value or store credit.  In some circumstances, if the new merchandise show evidence of damage or wear,  the restocking fee may be larger.   You are responsible for all shipping charges.  Contact Dive Sports at (800) 601-3483 for detailed instructions and settlement issues.

Merchandise Placed in Service.  Merchandise that has been placed in service (used for diving or other water activities) can only be returned if the manufacturer offers a published Customer Satisfaction Guarantee Policy.  In such cases, we will follow the requirements of the manufacturers policy with regard to return time and settlement issues.  You will be responsible for all shipping charges, ulness otherwise authorized by the manufacturer.  Contact us at (800) 601-3483 if you need to make a return of merchandise that has been placed in service.

Guarantee Policy
Customer Satisfaction Policy.  Some manufacturers offer a Customer Satisfaction Policy that allows customers to return merchandise for full exchange, even if the item has been used.  In most cases, these policies allow for return within 30 days of purchase.  In some cases, the return period is longer.   In all cases, Dive Sports will conform to the manufacturer's published policy.  You are responsible for all shipping charges.

Defect Noticed After Use

Merchandise Defective Within 30 Days  of Purchase.  If you receive a product that is defective in any way and we are notified within 30 days of purchase, we will provide an immediate replacement.  You will be provided with a Prepaid Return Shipping label to return the defective merchandise.  Dive Sports is responsible for all shipping charges.

Merchandise Defective More Than 30 Days After Purchase.  In this circumstance, we will follow the manufacturer's instructions on handling the defective product.  In some cases, they may ask that we handle the repair or replacement.  In other circumstances, they may request that the product be sent directly to them.  Contact us toll-free at (800) 601-3483 for instructions.  Manufacturer will determine disposition of shipping charges.

Returns for Merchandise Purchased as USED.  Merchandise that is sold as USED or DEMO may be returned within 30 days of the original purchase date for a store credit of 75% of the original purchase price, minus the cost of any FREE freight provided at the time of purchase.  Customer is responsible for returning merchandise to DiveSports.com.

Making a ReturnIf you find the need to make a return, please review the chart above to determine if you can return your item and what you should expect as a remedy.  You can use the link above to download and print a Merchandise Return Form.  Complete all areas of the form, including your credit card number (Since we do not store credit card numbers, we must have this to complete the return).    Once your returned item is received, we will process your return within 3 business days.
 
Responsibility for Return Freight.  When you return an item to us, you are responsible for the return freight and the additional shipping charges for any exchanges, unless noted otherwise in the table above.  When we process your return, we will credit you ONLY for the purchase price of the item returned.  If your return is the result of a shipping error made by DiveSports.com, or defective product noticed in the first 30 days prior to placing the item in service, Dive Sports will provide a pre-paid shipping label for return of the merchandise.
 
Returns Originally Purchased on a Free Shipping Promotion.  If you return an item that was originally shipped on a free shipping promotion, you will be responsible for the original value of the shipping.  When credits, exchanges, or store credits are issued, the value of the original shipping will be deducted from the settlement.
 
Returning Merchandise Shipped in Error.  If we make an error and ship you the wrong item, please phone us immediately at (800) 601-3483.  We will immediately ship the correct product out to you, along with a pre-paid shipping return label.  When you receive the correct product, simply put the product to be returned in the shipping container and affix the return label.  Drop the package off at any UPS Service Center, UPS retail store, or UPS drop box.
 
Returning Defective Merchandise.  If you have a defective product that is new and in the original packaging, you can return that product under the same rules as any new product.  If you receive a product and put it in use, but later determine that the product is defective, we offer different return/replacement remedies depending on the original date of purchase.  If we are notified of the product defect within 30 days of the original purchase date, we will immediately supply you with a replacement item, along with a prepaid return shipping label for return of the defective product.  If we are notified more than 30 days after the original purchase date, we will contact the manufacturer and apply any remedy that they authorize.  In most cases, merchandise that is defective more than 30 days after the date of purchase will be returned directly to the manufacturer.  If you have a defective product, please contact us immediately at (800) 601-3483 for proper instructions.
